Getting Started

Step 1

  • Download the “appaegis-unity.exe“.
  • Save it into a folder that is convenient for you (the user).
  • Run the “appaegis-unity.exe” from the folder it was saved. The Unity agent will download and install the necessary components in the background.

Step 2

  • Run the “Appaegis Unity“.
  • Then you will see the Appaegis Unity in your windows system tray.

  • Check the Appaegis Unity and select “Login“.

  • Choose your login domain.

Using the “Default” login domain:

  • When you choose to use the “Default” to sign in, the default domain name will use “access.appaegis.net”.
  • Then you will go to the Appaegis sign-in page, please enter your email and password.
  • When you sign in successfully, please check the sign-in user name and click the “Authorize” button.

  • Now you can use the Appaegis Unity to open SSH, RDP, and Kubernetes applications.

Custom Domain:

  • If you are for the first time choosing and using “Custom Domain“, please go to the “Account Profile” page, and enter the prefix of your “Custom Domain“. For example, if your custom login URL is “https://mycompany.appaegis.net”, you should enter “mycompany”.
  • Then you will go to the Appaegis sign-in page, please enter your email and password.
  • When you sign in successfully, please check the sign-in user name and click the “Authorize” button.

  • Now you can use the Appaegis Unity to open SSH, RDP, and Kubernetes applications.

  • Run the “appaegis-unity-macos.dmg” and install it into the “Applications”.
  • Find the “Appaegis Unity” among the applications and run it. The Unity agent will download and install the necessary components in the background.

  • Then you will see the Appaegis Unity in the Mac OS menu bar.

  • Check the Appaegis Unity and select “Login” first.

  • Choose your login domain.

Which platforms are supported?

Windows 10 and newer for PC, and macOS 10.15 (Catalina) and newer for Macs.

Which subscription level supports Unity?

Currently, Unity only supports the professional levels of subscription.

Can I use both the Appaegis cloud in web browser and the Unity at the same time?

Yes, you can use both at the same time as long as the subscription level supports Unity.

Which file should I download and install?

You should download the “appaegis-unity.exe“ file for Windows platforms, and the “appaegis-unity-macos.dmg“ for macOS platforms. Please see the installation guide for more details.

When I login, which option should I choose?

For most users, your admin should let you know the login domain, and you should fill in accordingly. For example, if your login domain is http://mycompany.appaegis.net , you should select “custom domain“ and put the subdomain “mycompany“ in the input field.

How does the auto-update work?

The Unity agent automatically checks available updates multiple times per day, and it will install them in the background. However, you will have to restart the agent in order to use the new version.

Which ssh clients are supported on Windows 10?

We support the OpenSSH client that comes with Windows 10. We do not support “Putty“ currently.
